Sitting on our verandah, we’ve visited places we’ll never travel to.
Through websites like Hospitality Club, Couchsurfing and Warm Showers we’ve hosted cyclists, backpackers and other travelers. As we listen to their stories we’re transported to their homes and the places they’ve been.
So we’ve been to Poland, Germany, Austria, France, The Netherlands, Kenya, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Argentina (so far).
We’ve made great friends, one who’s been back several times and who we’ve visited at her home.
We’ve eaten gnocchi made from scratch and delicious vegetarian pizza with roasted vegetables.
We’ve learnt how to prepare and drink maté and heard first hand about the work of Médecins Sans Frontières.
We’ve found out that there’s industrial strength bamboo and that you can make your own bike from it and ride it around Australia and the world.
Every visitor shares their unique experiences and we’re the richer for it.
When we can’t go to the world, the world can still come to us.
